VENGEANCE
Lyrics by Mickey Turner
LYRICS

(Verse 1)
the great I AM, in flesh
came to earth to die
the Son of God was mocked,
beaten and despised
the Lamb of God, condemned
and crucified
the Son of Man was dead
then seen alive

(Pre-Chorus)

but man denied the Witness of God
and scoffed at the Truth to follow the mob

(Chorus)
the clock is tickin’ as time draws near
D-day will comes and the Christ will appear
the once wounded Savior now ready for war
vengeance is mine, so says the Lord

(Verse 2)
he is alpha, omega
beginning and the end
Word of God, creator
he has always been
the lion of Judah
Faithful to defend
he is Jesus, Messiah
who conquered death and sin

 (Pre-Chorus)
but man denies Salvation from God
and laughs at Redemption to run with the mob

(Chorus)

(Bridge)
ready or not, the Son will return
to cut down the mob, quick-fast and sure
there's fire in his eyes to settle the score
it's one last battle to end all the wars
each nation will tremble, they cannot ignore
the blood stained warrior wielding the sword
he’ll vanquish this world and yield it no more
he's the King of kings and the Lord of lords

(Chorus)
LYRICAL THOUGHT
The first time Jesus entered this world, He was betrayed, beaten and crucified.  As a lamb led to the slaughter, Jesus offered himself as a sacrifice for the sins of mankind.  His death on the cross redeemed man from the power of sin and His resurrection rescued man from eternal death.  All man had to do was believe and follow Jesus.  But man rejected Salvation from God then and continues to do so to this day. Time is running out!  Jesus will return to this world again and wage war against all the nations.  As an avenging warrior, Jesus along with the armies of heaven will destroy all who oppose Him.  He will take back this world and rule with all authority forever and ever.  For you see, He is the King of kings and Lord of lords.

SCRIPTURAL THOUGHT
**He was despised and rejected -  a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief.  We turned our backs on him and looked the other way.  He was despised, and we did not care.  But he was pierced for our rebellion,  crushed for our sins.  He was beaten so we could be whole.  He was whipped so we could be healed.  He was oppressed and treated harshly,  yet he never said a word.  He was led like a lamb to the slaughter.  And as a sheep is silent before the shearers, he did not open his mouth.  (Isaiah 53:3, 5, 7)

**Then I saw heaven opened, and a white horse was standing there. Its rider was named Faithful and True, for he judges fairly and wages a righteous war.  His eyes were like flames of fire, and on his head were many crowns.  A name was written on him that no one understood except himself. He wore a robe dipped in blood, and his title was the Word of God.  The armies of heaven, dressed in the finest of pure white linen, followed him on white horses.  From his mouth came a sharp sword to strike down the nations. He will rule them with an iron rod. He will release the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty, like juice flowing from a winepress. On his robe at his thigh was written this title: King of all kings and Lord of all lords.
(Revelation 19:11-16)

** “Look, I am coming soon, bringing my reward with me to repay all people according to their deeds. 13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.”  (Revelation 22:12)
